Pragmatismus, Philosophie: Der philosophische Pragmatismus beschäftigt sich vor allem mit den Auswirkungen unserer Handlungen in der Welt. Insbesondere wird in der Richtung des Pragmatismus, die von W. James vertreten wird, Wahrheit aufgefasst als etwas, das sich als nützlich erwiesen hat oder erweisen wird. Siehe auch Ideale Behauptbarkeit, Wahrheit, Peirce, Dewey, Rorty, Putnam.
